Samsung have announced that they will be the first company to officially bring a tablet computer to the Taiwanese market as it aims to launch its Galaxy computer tab in mid-November.
The Galaxy tab has a seven inch screen and runs on an Android 2.2 operating system. Samsung will go into partnership with Chungwa Telecom, according to a statement made by the company on Monday. The group intend for smart phones and tablet computers to account for 40-50% of the company's purchases in 2011.
Taiwanese shoppers currently have access to the Apple iPad, but only if they wish to go through unofficial vending channels or importers. Samsung are set to be the first to officially launch a tablet computer in the country.
